Ah August that beautiful month full of summer sunshine and light wispy clouds with that warm breeze blowing across the airfield surely that must be the best month to have a flying week we said. |

Day one was a bit of a non event we had two flights and then the rain set in for the rest of the day so we decided to return to the clubhouse. After a cup of tea and some bacon butties we retired to the confines of the hanger to do some work on a couple of our gliders. |
|
Day two what a difference the weather was much better and our car park was crowded. Some members from other clubs had turned up along with some people looking for trial lessons and a couple of our ex members (who now fly at other clubs). We managed to keep both of our two seater aircraft busy all day managing a total of fourteen launches. |
|
Day three it rained in the morning. It rained in the afternoon and in the evening it really rained with a mixture of hail thrown in for good measure. One flight was all we managed and that was only a hanger flight. Once again we retired to the hanger to do some work on a couple of gliders. |

One flight for Day |

Day four much better with at least a dozen launches and some good thermal and ridge soaring conditions enabling some extended flights in excess of one hour. At times throughout the day we had to stop flying due to intermittent rain showers. We finished flying for the day at around 7pm and went home tired but happy. The week was shaping up after all ! |
